In this, the third and final installation of Andres' Introduction to Groovy series, you learn about how Groovy handles variable numbers of arguments, named parameters, currying, and more about Groovy operators. Including, some new operators.
Swing Fuse (actually just Fuse), is a framework designed to make it easier to create your own custom desktop components. In this article, Daniel Spiewak shows you how to get started and provides sample source code you can download.
Willam Louth shows how he uses JXInsight Probes to investigate probable performance issues with code bases that he is not familiar with. He also highlights possible pitfalls in creating a benchmark, as well as in the analysis of results.
Daffodil Software, a Java database and replication technology company, today announced the beta release of Daffodil Replicator v1.8 with new features like Scheduling, Debugging, Special Character handling, and Replication Process Monitoring.
Daffodil Replicator
is Open Source data synchronization software that ensures high availability of data in environments that make use of heterogeneous databases. Replicator can either capture a data-source snapshot OR synchronize change to maintain a local database at remote client locations. It can also be used for sharing workload across enterprise database severs, by mirroring vital data on identical databases.
Few new features included in Daffodil Replicator v1.8 are:
* Scheduling
By introducing the concept of Scheduling in Daffodil Replicator, we have provided the option to automate the process of replication. Scheduling supports replication in two modes-Real time and Non real time.
* Modify an existing publication / subscription
Now a user can update an existing publication/subscription by adding/dropping tables from it.
* Replication Process Monitoring
Replicator v1.8 provides for the provision of maintaining a Log File, that helps to monitor the Replication process .This file records the replication information like date and time of operation, type of replication used, status of replication operation, statistical data (number of records updated, inserted or deleted).
* Debugging option
Daffodil Replicator v1.8 provides the facility of debugging using ‘Log4j’. In this file, user can set the logging option as per the requirement. One can set debug level to any one of the following to control the amount of logging-Warn, Error, Fatal, Debug, Info, Off and All.
Apart from various performance enhancements, v1.8 fixes major bugs related to maintaining Referential integrity rules (while deleting the parent-child relationship records), Stack overflow, Out of Memory, Maximum open cursor exceeds, table already exist with different structure and Special character handling.
Both Console and Developers Guides have been revised to reflect the new features introduced. The source code and revised documents are available at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/daffodilreplica/
