JOnAS 5.0 RC Set To Be Released

URL: JOnAS

Recent discussions here and here , which compare open source Java application servers, seem to have overlooked ObjectWeb's JOnAS . Interestingly, the Release Candidate of JOnAS 5.0 is set to be released this Friday, December 14th, according to an article in today's WebWire .

The roadmap indicates that JOnAS will be Java EE 5 certified in April '08. The release candidate will focus on a J2EE 1.4 version re-engineered on OSGi, together with enhancements relating to cluster management provided by a new project called Jasmine . Plus, via an EJB container named EasyBeans , JOnAS already offers an "efficient, pluggable and easy to use EJB3 container", even prior to its Java EE 5 certification.

Here's looking forward to seeing this server being added to the comparisons of open source Java EE 5 application servers!

Re: JOnAS 5.0 RC Set To Be Released

I am a long time user of JOnAS and I am looking forward to this new release (unfortunately also for a long time, but maybe due to that they reorganized from OW to OW2). It is a server based on some robust components, and backed by big Euro companies :)
